On Tuesday we are having Wheels Day. Everyone has to bring a helmet. If you don't have a helmet you may not participate.
Heelys are included in the Wheels Day.
Everyday some people wear their heelys to school. In our class, I think that 4 or 5 people wear heelys. I think that they wear their heelys more than one time in a week. I see them wheeling around every time they have their wheelys on. They never wear their helmets because the wheelys are their shoes for the day and I think that they think that they don't need a helmet.
However, for Wheels Day, everyone must wear a helmet.
How come you need a helmet for Wheels Day when you bring your heelys but on every other day, people don't have to wear helmets if they are using their wheelys? Are some days wearing heelys safer than others? Are wheelys safe? Is the Wheels Day going to be safe?

ReplyDeleteI think this is because they are teaching us wheel safety. When you are learning about safety with wheels, you obviously need a helmet. I think the other thing is that there are so many people riding that you might bang into each other.

Maybe. Because if you're the only one riding with wheelies without a helmet it's nice and safe.
Is the Wheels Day going to be safe?
Yes. I think so because everybody will be wearing a nice and strong helmet and the place is lovely and big.
I think that wheelies don't need a helmet because it's hard to fall of and the wheels are so small that you can just touch the ground with them. I think that wheelies are the safest thing to use with wheels so I think it doesn't need a helmet.I'm so sure that wheels day is super safe because everybody has a helmet to ride on scooters and roller blades.

ReplyDeleteI think that it is not safe outdoors where cars are but inside or at school is ok. And also outside where cars are you might want to wear a helmet. And I also think that Wheels day will be safe.
ReplyDeleteI think that heelys are safe when adults are around and since we are going to do Wheels Day it teaches you about riding with wheels by yourself and that means there will be no adult around so you have to wear a helmet, but when a TRUSTED adult is AROUND with YOU or someone over 13 then you can get permission if you can ride without a helmet.
I think that we have to wear a helmet because they are teaching us about safety and other people are around riding something else.Wearing a helmet would make it safer and you would feel much better knowing that you are safe.I think it is important to wear a helmet.
ReplyDeleteYou should always wear a helmet because it is still wheels and you 'need' a helmet for any toy that has wheels because if you fall you might hurt your head if you do not wear a helmet.

ReplyDeleteI think that you shouldn't have a helmet for heelys because heelys are just shoes that have wheels on the bottom so it would be easy to stop so you wouldn't crash so you wouldn't need to wear a helmet for heelys.But you need to wear a helmet for roller blades and scooters and for skate boards.
ReplyDeleteI think on wheels day you have to wear a helmet riding on Wheelys because you never know if your going to crash in to another person on an scooter or a bike and you can get hurt and it is always important to wear helmets because you could attempt to do a trick on a bike or a scooter but you fail and you could crash in to stuff riding a bike or an scooter and how about if the Wheelys get tangled in something like a string or a wire you could trip up and scrap your leg.

ReplyDeleteI think you should use your helmet just encase you fall or get hurt. But when you have your helmet on some times in covers your eyes when you ride and I hate that.
