Collaborating with Room 20
Collaborating with Room 20 gave us a chance to be teachers. It takes some different skills to be an effective teacher and knowing the ways in which we learn is an important step in this process.

Collaborative Drawing
In pairs, our class took turns, first one person described the flower while the other drew it and then we swapped around. Our first sketches were really awesome. They show good communication skills, attentive listening skills and some developing sketching skills. Keep watching . . . there's more to come. This was just the first step in our 'Georgia O'Keefe' inspired art cycle.

Robots at The Mind Lab
Did you know that all technology is stupid and can only work because we are smart enough to programme it? We had to use our abilities to tell the robot what to do. We downloaded our program onto the robot and then used the remote control to direct it. What things do you think that you could get your robot to do with your programming knowledge?
Our visit to the The Mind Lab was engaging, fun and challenging. I hope we get another opportunity to attend a session there! What would you most like to learn next?
Why would you recommend The Mind Lab to others?
Makey Makey at the Mind Lab
One session was facilitated by Coco. Coco taught her groups a little about coding and using Scratch. Coco demonstrated how to make a circuit using a 'Makey Makey' and how to hook up the wires to control the actions needed to play a game effectively making game controllers.
What did you find most interesting today? How would you explain Makey Makey to someone in Year 4?
