Have you ever been in an earthquake? On October 15th at 9:15am, NWS participate in the NZ ShakeOut earthquake drill. Many of us are from Auckland and have never experienced an earthquake but some of us like Mr Bermingham have experiences both big and small earthquakes.
Mr Bermingham shared some of his experiences with us and we've all practices the stop, drop and cover drill which may be the thing which keeps us safe during a quake.
This was a bit hard because I could not really fit under the desk
ReplyDeleteWhen we first heard the whistle I got scared and I panic but then I safely got into a turtle under a desk. What I liked about it was that I did a really good turtle as my teacher said. I didn't really like when I panicked and almost got scared. It was interesting of how I didn't know how to do a turtle and I did it really really good.
ReplyDeleteIf the drill was real then we will be scared but we will know what to do so we turned into turtles to protect our head and neck.
ReplyDeleteWhen I heard the whistle I thought that Ms Skipper was whistling cause we were too loud but then I saw everyone going under a desk so I remembered that the whistle was for the shake out. I didn't fit underneath the desk and I couldn't do the turtle position properly.
ReplyDeleteI heard the whistle and I tried to fit underneath. But my friends were leaving no space for me.
